A Powdered Milk Plant Will Be Modernized in the Smolensk Region

During the Fourth Regional Social and Economic Forum “Territory of Development” a cooperation agreement has been signed by Alexey Ostrovsky, Governor of the Smolensk Region, and Eduard Andris, CEO of Gagarinkonservmoloko, aimed to extend and modernize the company’s production facilities.

It should be recalled that Gagarinkonservmoloko specializes in producing powdered milk products (including milk and cream powder, dairy butter and butter fat, whey concentrate, etc.), being the largest Russian manufacturer of acid whey powder.

Worth noting is the fact that the enterprise performs a continuous upgrade of its facilities and equipment and ramps up the production output. For example, a new whey processing machine with a capacity of 700 tons per day has been installed at the plant this year.

The signed agreement prescribes for construction of a new production line, allowing to increase the amount of milk powder produced to reach 1.5 tons a day. The total amount of investments is expected to be as large as 470 million rubles. The investment project involves creation of 45 additional new jobs.
