Effective brainstorming: myth or reality?
Brainstorming is one of the most well-known methods of generating creative solutions. What could be easier: to assemble a team and discuss new ideas together? But it's not that simple!
Brainstorming, like any other technique, has its own rules.:
Quantity is more important than quality
The more ideas there are, the more likely they will be worthwhile. Be sure to write down all the thoughts that the team members have.
No criticism
Any comments about the quality, reasonableness and expediency of ideas are allowed only after the brainstorming session is completed.
Nothing is impossible.
Forget about physics and logic, encourage out-of-the-box thinking. Participants should freely express any thoughts, even if at first glance they seem unrealistic and strange.
"Finishing up" ideas
In order for the brainstorming session to be successful, all the collected ideas need to be "wrapped up": combine, refine, improve. So from a chaotic stream of thoughts, you can get a solution that will actually work.
Follow these simple rules so that teamwork is effective and brings real benefits to your company.
