Spaghetti diagram: Optimizing workflows
March 24, 2025
Safonov, a participant in the federal project "Labor Productivity", which is part of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy" of Royal Cake LLC, with the help of experts from the Regional Competence Center (RCC), gained practical skills in constructing a spaghetti Diagram on a pilot flow.

The "spaghetti diagram" is one of the ways to optimize production. It visualizes the movement of information, people, and materials, and also allows you to evaluate the entire chain of product movements during its production. The visualized diagram allows you to see all the production processes in their entirety.
The finished diagram looks like a plate of pasta, which is why the tool bears this name.

He helps:

  • visually work through the problems;
  • Quickly identify growth points;
  • Optimize production based on this data.
Few people try to analyze their movements during the day. Every meter of our movements is a waste of resources such as time and energy. The spaghetti diagram is an excellent tool for describing the number, trajectory, time, and extent of movements.

This method helps you understand how to optimize routes and use your resources more efficiently.

After completing the training, the company's working group will continue the practical implementation of Lean manufacturing tools as part of the diagnostic stage, with the support of experts from the RCC of the Smolensk region.
