Entrepreneurs from both countries gathered in the Russian capital to get acquainted and outline new vectors for the development of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting was organized by the Indian Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council and the Embassy of the Republic of India in the Russian Federation.
Gina Uika, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation, noted that the meeting gave a new impetus to the interaction and development of the pharmaceutical industry between the two countries.
“We are working closely with the government of the Russian Federation on the production, delivery and certification of medicines,” she said.

The Indian delegation included representatives of 54 pharmaceutical companies of the Republic. The manufacturers are engaged in formulations, bulk, herbal, ayurvedic medicines and medical services. In Russia, the share of Indian drugs is among the ten most popular.

In addition, the participants discussed the supply of animal feed and medicine, as well as anti-monopoly policy in the field of medical services, in order to improve and facilitate the interaction between business representatives.

“Such meetings provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to get to know each other and present their products. We can find out which medications are already available in Russia and which are not. This creates a good opportunity for business and production development - we will work in this direction,” said Ravi Uday Bhaskar, CEO of the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India.

As a result of the communication, the representatives of the Investment Development Corporation of the Smolensk Region reached agreements on further cooperation with Indian partners, taking into account possible cooperation in the production of pharmaceutical products in the Smolensk Region as part of the localization of production processes in the Region.
