Progress report on the “Expansion of a Zolotaya Niva LLC dairy farm capacity from 1.8 to 4.25 milk cows” investment project (Safonovo District)

In the field of dairy farming, there is being implemented a major investment project for expansion of production capacities to 4.25 heads of milking herd on the basis of Zolotaya Niva LLC in the Safonovo District with a milk production capacity of 32.5 thousand tons a year. 

Zolotaya Niva LLC is one of the largest dairy-commercial complexes in the territory of the Smolensk Region with its own feed base for the production of raw cow milk. This is the livestock breeding complex of a European type, where the full-cycle production (from sowing and fodder conservation to supplying milk to a processing plant) is organized according to the latest technologies and the environmental safety requirements. The total cattle stock is about 4 heads, of which about 2 heads are high-production milking cows. In the pipeline of the farm enterprise is expansion of production areas and dairy cattle stock. 

At present, Zolotaya Niva LLC is cultivating about 6 thousand ha of farming land, of which over 3.5 thousand ha are used in crop rotation. In 2019, there was completed the construction of fly camp (for cattle stock keeping in summer).

The total number of cattle is 4 500 heads, 2 000 heads of which is high-production milking cows. For livestock keeping 7 byres with all the necessary infrastructure have been built, as well as its own feed supplies have been created. Currently, milk production is 70-71 tons per day, on average for one forage-fed cow there are 34 litres per day. In the near future this agricultural enterprise will expand its production capacity and the number of dairy cattle.
