In May 2020, under the investment project implementation that deals with the development of new peat deposits for peat extraction and processing in the Smolensk Region, the Administration of the Smolensk Region and Torfprom LLC signed a cooperation agreement.

Torfprom LLC is a subsidiary enterprise of Russkaya Torfyanaya Companya LLC.

At present, the enterprise has a valid license for exploration and extraction of peat at the subsurface site Oster with an area of more than 300 ha. In the near future there are planes for the development of the entire square of the deposit. Currently, the process for receiving the license for the extraction of peat at the deposit in Osyorny, the Dukhovshchina District (deposit Svitsky mokh) is in progress. The deposit development is also happening in Rudnya.

In 2021, the investor plans to increase peat extraction up to 500 thousand m3.
