Rosa Dairy Factory Is Being Tested by International Audit Consultants Before Start-Up

Two Smolensk food enterprises passed the diagnostic audits provided by SGS, the largest company in the sphere of surveillance audit services. The production sites of the Rosa Dairy Factory and the Favorite-Product Fish Processing Company were tested for compliance with the requirements of the FSCC 22000 certificate.

The audit was carried out by SGS, the world leader in surveillance audit services, expertise, testing and certification, provided with laboratories around the world. Earlier in the day, the company`s employees held seminars twice for the Smolensk industrial enterprises. Along with 50 Smolensk enterprises the experts reviewed the basis of the Federal networks suppliers audit and implementation of the HACCP food safety system.

The attitude towards the audits in enterprises is different, but it is important to understand its value. For example, the dairy factory received customized recommendations for implementing the FSCC 22000 certification scheme principles. This will help to avoid nonsampling errors during the design and the enterprise startup, and to prevent additional costs for implementing the system in the future”, said Oleg Vorobyev, Head of the Industry Office of the Industry and Trade Department of the Smolensk Region. – The FSCC 22000 certification scheme has already been implemented in the Favorite-Product company. Therefore, auditors prepared the enterprise for commercial networks audits, indicated weaknesses in the certification.

It should be recalled that with the assistance of the Governor Alexey Ostrovsky, the Ministry of Agriculture approved the application of the Rosa Dairy Factory for a subsidized investment loan aimed at the factory restoration in March this year. In addition, the regional authorities are also assisting in the acquisition of the necessary equipment. The investments volume will amount to 230 million roubles. The plant will be engaged in processing and sale of dairy products; there are plans to produce 10 commodity items – milk, kefir, curd, sour cream with a variety of fat contents, cheese and oil.
