Germany Has Taken an Interest in Smolensk Plywood

The Smolensk Woodworking Plant LLC concluded an export contract for birch plywood supply to Germany. Negotiations are also under way with other buyers. The Export Support Center of the Smolensk Region helped to find the partner abroad.

"Despite the high competition in the German formed market and the average margin level of 2-3 per cent, the woodworking plant managed to find its buyer", told Specialist for International Promotion of the regional Export Support Center Elena Rylova. – In 2019, more than 40 Smolensk companies used the service "search for a foreign counterparty". I wish to emphasize that entrepreneurs must be prepared to consider the provided contact data and to negotiate as well as to have a presentation and a commercial offer. All this affects the results of service provision."

It should be recalled that last August, there have been discussed the company's plans to expand the production activity by the Management of the Smolensk Woodworking Plant LLC and by the Governor Alexey Ostrovsky. At the meeting, the head of the region ordered to provide the plant with comprehensive assistance in finding business partners, including partners abroad.

“For a new enterprise, it is not so easy to enter the market, where there are operating other companies with a formed client base for years. However, collaboration work has come to fruition. We have made sure that the service on search of foreign clients brings results”, told Head of Commercial Department of the Smolensk Woodworking Plant LLC Stanislav Shaydov.
