The Largest Scrambled Egg in Russia Will Be Cooked During the First Gastronomy Festival in the Smolensk Region

The first gastronomy festival called SmetaninoFEST will be held at Smetanino village of the Smolensk Region on May 19. The festival organizers will invite the best restaurant owners to participate in the event, where the visitors will be able to taste popular international dishes and try to cook them.

The highlight of SmetaninoFEST will be the largest scrambled egg in Russia cooked during the event. The participants will crack 7,000 eggs into a huge pan weighing 2 tons, this fact is to be included into the Russian Book of Records.

The members of the Tourism Cluster of the Smolensk Region will present a cook book containing traditional recipes recorded and used in various districts of the Smolensk Region. The guests will have a chance to degust several dishes cooked following the recipes.

This day the festival will provide active recreation for all the family members. For example, the venue will host a food court, family entertainment areas, recreational areas for children, trade fair involving Smolensk producers. Areas for intellectual leisure activities will give a special zest to this event. Besides, the visitors will be able to play a popular Brain Battle game and taste molecular cuisine during SmetaninoFEST. The festival program will include cooking classes and creative workshops, performances of the street theatre, themed lectures and a spectacular musical show. SmetaninoFEST will become not only a good family tradition but will boost development of gastronomy tourism within the region.

The event will be supported by the Administration of the Smolensk Region and arranged by Smetanino Poultry Farm. The event is open to the public.
