Chinese Entrepreneurs Will Purchase Flax Fibre Made in Smolensk
During the business meeting between representatives of Muling City Xin Ling Line Textile Co., Ltd (China), members of the Export Support Centre and entrepreneurs from Smolensk within the first All-Russian Flax Field Day 2018, it was agreed that the Chinese partners are ready to purchase the flax fibre manufactured in Smolensk in batches of 20 tons and more.

Muling City Xin Ling Line Textile Co., Ltd produces yarn from flax fibre, which quality is ranging from number 9 to number 13, and sells it to other countries. Today the corporation imports the major part of the raw material from France. But it is already now that the Chinese entrepreneurs are ready to buy over 5,000 tons of the flax fibre per year from Russian manufacturers, in particular, from the ones located in the Smolensk Region.

The Export Support Centre specialists point out that the flax made in Smolensk has a reasonable chance to become one of the basic goods exported by the Smolensk Region. This is due to the growing global demand for the eco-friendly materials as well as due to the significant efforts made by the Administration of the Smolensk Region headed by Governor Alexey Ostrovsky aimed to regain leadership of the Smolensk Region in the flax growing industry.

For any requests related to export deliveries of the flax fibre, please contact the Export Support Centre of the Smolensk Region on +7 (4812) 67-20-90.

It should be recalled that the first All-Russian Flax Field Day was held in the Pochinok District of the Smolensk Region. The event brought together the leading industry experts from various regions of Russia, as well as senior officials representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Industry and Trade, and also entrepreneurs who deal with flax growing, harvesting machinery manufacture and repair, as well as with flax seed selection and flax processing.
