The new resident has appeared in the Safonovo Industrial Park
The company «Russian Flax» became a resident of the Safonovo Industrial Park, on the territory of this industrial park will be started the construction of a modern flax processing complex in May of 2018. All arrangements about the placement of production in the Safonovo Industrial Park were achieved at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi.
The company «Russian Flax» is a part of the «Textile» division of the agro-industrial holding «Promagro», one of the largest pork producers among the Black Earth region and meat suppliers in the Russian market.
«As the head of the Smolensk region I attracted a large investor who will start designing and building a new flax-processing plant - the first one in the past 30 years. I am glad that the plant will be built in our region, which has always been famous for flax growing and now regains its leading position in this industry», - said the Governor of the Smolensk region Alexey Ostrovsky at the meeting of the Commission for Investment Policy under the Administration of the Smolensk region.
The implementation of the investment project is scheduled for 2018-2020. It is planned that the enterprise will process 10 thousand tons of flax, and the production of flax yarn will amount to 3,5 thousand tons. The new production will be directed to the creation of high-quality competitive blighty products with a focus on import substitution and export. As a raw material for the production of yarn will be used kotonized flax fiber.
«At present, we are negotiating about the supply of raw materials with Smolensk flax-growing farms, with two of them preliminary agreements have already been reached. I believe that contracts for the required amount of flax fiber will be concluded in March», said Andrei Karachev, the company's executive director.
The total amount of investments will be about 2 billion rubles. The new production complex will create more than 220 new workplaces and will give impetus to the development of the linen industry in Russia. For realization of the project it is required a land area of 30 hectares. In addition to its own sources of financing, the company plans to use federal support measures, including some support of the Industrial Development Fund and the guarantee support of the SME Corporation.
The revival of the flax industry is one of the strategic tasks facing the Administration of Smolensk Region. The head of the region pays special attention to this direction. «With the management of the company «Russian Flax», we came to the final decision about the localization of manufacture and construction of a new flax plant in the territory of our region. The corresponding document will be signed in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, at the same time, I should note that the company has already registered in the region and it has actively been preparing for the project», commented Alexey Ostrovsky.
All the documents from the potential resident were provided to the Department of the Investment Development of the Smolensk region in accordance to the Regulation on the selection of residents of state industrial parks in full. According to the conclusion of the management company, the Safonovo Industrial Park has the necessary land and technical conditions for the localization of manufacture of «Russian Flax». The planned for the creation production facility corresponds to the hazard class of production facilities, the construction of which can be carried out on the territory of the industrial park.
According to the results of the meeting of the Commission for Investment Policy under the Administration of the Smolensk region, the company was solid assigned the status of a resident.
