The Governor told representatives of Asian business community about investment attractiveness of the Smolensk region

The meeting of presidium of the State Council devoted to questions of complex social and economic development of regions of the Far East took place on the platform of the third Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok under the chairmanship of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The Governor Alexey Ostrovsky participated in the action. 

The panel session Russia — Japan took place within Eastern Economic Forum. Participants of business dialogue exchanged opinions on cooperation between two countries and also discussed the further prospects of development of bilateral communications and business contacts.

During discussion of the directions of regional cooperation of Russia and Japan Alexey Ostrovsky informed representatives of Asian business community on investment attractiveness of the Smolensk region.

It should be noted that participation of the Governor in work of the panel session Russia — Japan and helding meetings on platforms of Eastern Economic Forum have already  brought practical results. The agreement is reached that the Japanese delegation will visit the Smolensk region in September, the delegation will consist of representatives of the business structures planning to study the offered opportunities for localization and development of the enterprises in the territory of our region.

Last year the EEF brought together 3,5 thousand participants from 56 foreign countries. More than 200 agreements for the total amount of 1,8 trillion rubles were signed during the forum.
