Smolensk region is in a top of 15 regions attractive to foreign investments

Smolensk region has entered in top-15 of the most attractive Russian regions from the business view.

The magazine BIGRUSSIA has made the rating in the run-up to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum which will take place in the northern capital from June 1 to June 3, 2017. Among the interviewed experts there are heads of foreign Chambers of Commerce and Industry, associations and unions of foreign businessmen, and also consulting agencies doing business in Russia.

The international analysts emphasize that contrary to sanctions interest of the foreign companies in business in Russia only increases.

The first three regions which are attractive to the foreign companies are Moscow and Moscow region, Republic of Tatarstan, St. Petersburg and Leningrad region.

Smolensk region is on the 14th line of rating.

During the enquiry five major factors which influence the decision of the foreign businessman to open business in Russia have been created size and prospects of the market; favorable financing terms, cheap energy and labor; customs conditions, the legislation in the sphere of trade and deliveries; state support, good dialogue with local authorities; political stability.
