10- Unit Lastochka Trains Will Go Between Smolensk and Moscow

This was reported during the working meeting of Governor Alexey Ostrovsky with Head of the Moscow Railway Mikhail Glazkov. The participants discussed future development for the railway transport within the region, key lines of cooperation aimed to tackle top priority tasks of the region’s social and economic development. 


A new rolling stock will include 10-unit Lastochka high-speed trains with three classes of service. By 2020 these trains will substitute the existing ones that course between Smolensk and Moscow,” underscored Mikhail Glazkov. 


During the meeting the members paid attention to the plans for upgrading the cellular network along the railroad line and providing stable internet connection.


After that Alexey Ostrovsky and Mikhail Glazkov signed an agreement for social and economic cooperation for 2019 – 2021. The document lays down the key areas of joint activities by the parties, such as providing better transport services to the regional enterprises and local citizens, ensuring stable and safe operation of the railway transport.
